Dear Citizens of Runaway Bay,
I am happy to report our City has regained working order after being rocked by the recent ice storm. Through such trying times I witnessed strength, unity, and dedication of many people to our great City and fellow man.
There are many people who worked tirelessly behind the scenes in order to restore the utilities and care for each other during this incredibly difficult time. I would like to thank our First Responders, City Employees, and private citizens for going above and beyond once again in time of need. I would also like to thank a few individuals who are not citizens of Runaway Bay, but through their tremendous efforts made a great impact in getting us through this trying time. These people are truly deserving of all our thanks:
Kevin Burns, Commissioner for Pct. 2;
Jack Bragg of Bridgeport Equipment Services;
Terry Highfield; and
Chris Stevenson of Industrial Diesel, Inc.
and so many others who worked tirelessly behind the scenes in order to restore utilities.
I have enjoyed hearing the stories and seeing firsthand our citizens opening their homes and hearts to neighbors in need. It is this mentality, generosity, and selfless acts that makes our City Great! Keep up the good work Runway Bay!
Mayor Herman White
