The City of Runaway Bay Emergency Management Team (Mayor White, Mayor Pro Tem St. John, Administrator Woods, Public Safety Director Reynolds, Dr. Holloway and Dr. Agarwal) are managing through the Coronavirus.
Out of an abundance of caution and concern for the safety and well-being of our community we have made the proactive decision to, ask residents who have traveled to specific areas to self-quarantine for 14 days.
A release from the city lists the specific areas of concern as any country OVERSEAS, California, New York, Massachusetts, and Washington state.
“It is pertinent for anyone who has traveled to these areas to self-quarantine”. Taking preventative measures is the only way to reduce and/or slow the likelihood of an outbreak in Wise County. Currently there are no confirmed cases/outbreak of the Coronavirus in Wise County.

If you are at higher risk for serious illness from Coronavirus because of your age or because you have a serious long-term health problem, it is extra important for you to take actions to reduce your risk.
Remember to follow these preventative measures in your daily life:
Wash your hands frequently
Stay at home if you’re sick
Avoid close personal contact, such as shaking hands
Avoid large crowds as much as possible
Some Wise County schools have opted to extend spring break next week as a precautionary measure.
At this time the City of Runaway Bay has no plans to close any facilities. The Emergency Management Team does encourage water/wastewater customers to pay online at runawaybaytexas.com. Water/Wastewater payments may also be mailed to 101 Runaway Bay Dr. Runaway Bay TX 76426. In addition, payments may be dropped off at City Hall in the overnight deposit/drop box.
