The Runaway Bay Department of Public Safety was created by City Ordinance in 2006. The Runaway Bay Police Department and the Runaway Bay Volunteer Fire Department fall under this departmental umbrella.

Emergency Notification

The City checks our Emergency Siren the first Monday of every month at 1:00 PM. This Siren is used when threatening weather demands citizens take shelter immediately.

Emergency Plan

The City of Runaway Bay is pleased to announce the launch of the Blackboard Connect service, our new city-to-resident notification system. With this service, city leaders can send personalized voice messages to residents and businesses within minutes with specific information about time-sensitive or common-interest issues such as emergencies and local community matters. The Connect service will be used to supplement our current communication plans and augment public safety/first responder services.
